Justice Boyce took his public oath of office on December 28, 2007 following his appointment to fill an unexpired term. Before taking the bench, Justice Boyce was in private practice for 18 years and became certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He handled appeals throughout Texas and across the country while in private practice, including an oral argument in a case in the Supreme Court of the United States.
